Free School Meals

Your child may be entitled to free school meals or a premium to assist with their education.  

Even if your child does not wish to eat a free school meal but is entitled to, the school could receive additional funding each year to assist with their education.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be offered a free school meal from September 2014. Parents and carers who receive the qualifying benefits should still make an application for free school meals.  This is because your school can get additional government funding dependent on the number of children that qualify for statutory free school meals (based on your entitlement to certain benefits and awards).

Please claim even if your child does not wish to take a free meal.
